Ash
4-9-08

Debris rains down like ash, like snow
Like a shooting star from space
Such a beautiful defilement
A symbol of disgrace
Remains of lives, of bygone days
Float down from above
Such encompassing destruction
And yet it's not enough
Greedy, thirsty, lusting for more--
What of the lives already stolen?
War ravages the lands of men
Heeding not what it has broken
Flames devour and tempests toss
The burning lands of men
Blood runs through the streets and yet
War approaches yet again
Falling from the sky just like
A dark and twisted snow
Ash rains down like memories
Of lives that are no more
Debris rains down like ash, like snow
Onto barren, ravaged lands
War's the symbol of our fate
What we've destroyed with our own hands

I don't plan to watch it until it's finished, but my brother started, so I heard the song and loved it. It's from Gundam 00: "Ash Like Snow" by The Brilliant Green. The bridge contains these lines: "There I come for you, yeah, / Ash like snow / is floating down from your sky" .../... "Ash like snow / let me hear why I have to fight." They totally inspired this. As a random note, I wrote this in my psychology notebook before class one day.
