Forgive

No matter what you say or do,
Someone will always look down on you.
But what they think doesn’t matter, really,
In the end, their opinions are just plain silly.
What matters are convictions, laid deep inside,
Which no weapons have damaged, though they have tried.
People will hurt you, they’re human, it’s fact;
But any loss to gain turns back
If you learn the lesson you’ll need to live:
“Before the miracle, you must forgive.

                       I just realized I wrote that on my dad's birthday. Ho hum. A bit of a story accompanies this strange poem. It's badly written and very odd, but I needed it. To put it gently, my best friend's mother decided she didn't like me because I drew manga style and she felt that implied some things that were absolutely untrue. Their family then proceeded to leave the church, the only place I could ever see my best friend. I was very upset; but then I realized that if this was going to turn around somehow, I would have to forgive my friend's mother. Well, I didn't get my miracle. But I feel much better now that I have forgiven her.
