The Holocaust of Today
5-28-06

We know about them, yet, we freely turn our eyes away.
“It’s only tissue,” just one excuse that we always say.
Today we have all lost sight of life’s due veneration,
So we’ve allowed the holocaust of this generation.
Open your ears to hear them, open your eyes to see!
This mass murder can’t be how the world was meant to be!
What in the Constitution, or in the Bible too,
Says that this is not as wrong as murdering a Jew?
We cried out when we heard it! The Holocaust is wrong!
So where is all that passion for those we’ve slaughtered all along?
Millions upon millions, without a voice to plea,
The blood of unborn children rests upon you and on me.
The land that was supposed to be the country of the free,
Has okayed this abomination as if it were meant to be.
Where is our conscience? Why don’t we all cry out?
When the victim’s voices can’t be heard, why do we not shout?
Where is our outrage? Our justice and our voice?
Since when do we just ride along like we don’t have a choice?
Choice is what they call it. Amnesty for those who kill.
Freedom can’t equal license, never has and never will.
Show me your justice, oh America the free!
Show me how you justify this killing that I see!
A baby is a person, no matter what the lies,
Disturbing, how easily we’re convinced of otherwise.
We’ve raised a generation where murder holds no sorrow.
I pity you, America, for what will surely follow.
Remember this, when you look back, don’t say you were not told
Abortion is the floodgate that opens up the doors,
And the suicide, infanticide, euthanasia that ensues
Was caused by the courts saying we have a right to choose.
They cannot speak, the murdered ones, so for them I say,
Please, turn around and stop the holocaust of today.

Ever since I first heard about it when I was seven or eight years old, abortion has been a major issue to me. Of all the things that irk me in society today--the acceptance of homosexuality, the hatred of our soldiers, the false pacifism, communism, the liberal socialist agenda--abortion is the one that has always, always without fail angered and/or saddened me to the last degree. I don't even like babies. But you know what? That doesn't make killing them right. When does a baby become human? What is so supernatural about the birth canal that a baby becomes human once he's gone through it? We are claiming to be able to define when human life begins. Now it's at birth. Tomorrow it will be when they are a year old. Then two. Then three. One of these days, if we do not stop it now, mothers will be able to kill any child under ten without fear of the law. It sounds ridiculous now. But partial-birth abortion sounded ridiculous once upon a time, too. We have to take a stand. Because the enemy isn't going to wait for us.
